  The base of the paintings is custom made framed plywood boards. I apply 40-100+ layers of acrylic construction paint of the several colors in a certain order on it, finally the top background layers. Next I use a linocut cutting tool. To create a picture, I need to carve the paint with a cutter to the depth of a certain layer to reveal the desired color. The result is a negative volume inside the plane of the painting. The shadows from the carved texture also add extra tones to the paint.
